YORK -Joan Marie (Bohn Krout) Berg, 73, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late William L. Berg. A celebration of life service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 12, 2010 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with the Rev. Judith Gibble Kipp officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Jackson Twp. Mrs. Berg was born July 29, 1936 in York, a daughter of the late Wilbert F. and Alverta Grace (Hamberger)Bohn. She was a graduate of Dallastown High School. While living in York, she owned and operated a farm where she spent many hours, as well as owning a successful slipcover business. Mrs. Berg later moved to Wellington, NV, where she was Supervisor of Special Assembly for Bentley Nevada and then moved to Webster, WI, where she operated various businesses over the years. While living there she became a member of the town council, and helped to develop a senior center. She was also an active member of the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Berg is survived by two sons, Dean E. Krout and wife, Pamela L. and Michael A. Krout and wife, Vicki L. all of York; two daughters, Terry S. Krout of Gardnerville, NV, and Bonnie L. Toews of York; five grandchildren, Dustin M., Leah M., and Brandon M. Krout, and Jessie L. and Nicolas M. Vidrio-Toews; two brothers, W. Franklin Bohn of Harrisburg, and A. Fredrick Bohn of Orlando, FL; and a niece, Amy L. Bohn. She was preceded in death by her first husband Jesse C.
