POTTSVILLE - Jean E. Yarnell Berger, of Port Carbon, died March 16, 2007 at the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center. Born in Pottsville on December 27, 1925 she was a daugher of the late Joseph and Marian Pifer Zachar. She was a 1943 graduate of Pottsville High School. She was married to Edward G. Yarnell, who died in 1982 and Dean Berger, who died in 1999. She was a member of the Mary Queen of Peace Chruch, Pottsville. Surviving Jean are: two sons, Edward and Thomas, both of Pottsville; a daughter, Margaret Tokonitz, of Port Carbon; eight grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren; a sister Barbara Klinger; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM in the Mary Queen of Peace Church. The Rev. John Bambrick will officiate. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery. The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., Pottsville, is handling the arrangements.
