POTTSVILLE, PA -Jane M. (Sponsler) Hoffman, 94 died Friday, May 8, 2009 at Rest Haven Nursing Home, Schuylkill Haven, PA. She was formerly of North Third Street, Pottsville. Celebration of Life Services will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Third & Arch Streets, Pottsville, PA. Family and friends may call at the church from 10:00 A.M. till 10:50 A.M. There will be no calling hours Monday evening and no procession from the Funeral Home to the church Tuesday morning. Interment will be at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Inc., Schuylkill Haven, PA. Mrs. Hoffman was born in Tower City, PA, October 10, 1914 the daughter of the late Edward and Mary (McNoldy) Sponsler. She attended Tower City schools. Mrs. Hoffman was a sales clerk for the former Tobias Fashions of Pottsville. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, was a Girl Scout Leader, a Senior Travelers, Women's Club of Pottsville, Schuylkill Haven Professional Business Women's Club, and an honorary Life Member of the Humane Hose Company Auxiliary. Preceded Mrs. Hoffman in death is her husband William N. Hoffman; three brothers Harry, James, and William Sponsler. Surviving is a daughter Linda, wife of Fred Seiwell, Pottsville, two sons Roger, husband of Joan Hoffman, North Fort Myers, FL, Gary, husband of Pamela Hoffman, New Braunfels, TX, seven grandchildren Scott and Trevor Seiwell, Jessica, Jaimie, Janine, Barbie, and Tammy, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren, two sisters Grace Stanton, Tower City, PA and Louise Swaney, Pottsville, PA and several nieces and nephews. The family would prefer remembrances to be made to the Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville, PA 17901. Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
