BROGUE- Irene Daisy (Fishel) Dettinger, 97, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Edgar T. Dettinger, who passed away on July 4, 1996. The couple had been married for 66 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, January, 7, 2012 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion with the Reverend Edward Wible officiating. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday and 9-10 a.m. Saturday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Luke’s Lutheran Cemetery. Mrs. Dettinger was born on November 9, 1914 in Chanceford Twp., a daughter of the late Roy Fishel and Florence Ellen (Smith) Grimm. Irene was a homemaker. Mrs. Dettinger was a member and loved attending Chanceford Alliance Church. She enjoyed flowers, making bread, sewing, and playing Scrabble and cards. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Dettinger is survived by five sons, Lester Dettinger of Red Lion, Richard Dettinger of Red Lion, Donald Dettinger of Airville, Earl Dettinger of Airville and Terry Dettinger of York; five daughters, Delores Lighty of Brogue, Flo Cordrey of Red Lion, Jean Bacon of Dallastown, Joyce Colyer of Brogue and Sandra Colyer of Brogue; 40 grandchildren; over 76 great grandchildren; over 20 great great grandchildren; and a sister, Violet V. Cook of Windsor. She was preceded in death by two sons, Dean Dettinger and Vernon Dettinger; and a daughter, Patricia Nailor.
