Hilda Yurckonis

POTTSVILLE- Hilda Yurckonis, 94, formerly of Pottsville, resident of Orwigsburg Center, passed away Saturday evening at Orwigsburg Center. Born in Pottsville on December 31, 1918, Hilda was a daughter of the late Hilbert E. and Jennie Zimmerman Hoppe. Hilda was a graduate of Pottsville High School. She worked in the textile industry as a seamstress for many years. Hilda was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville. In addition to her parents, Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Yurckonis, Sr., who passed away in 1991; her four sister; her brother. Hilda is survived by her daughter, Barbara Strouse, wife of Larry, of Auburn; her two sons, Robert A.Yurckonis, Jr, of VA and Hilbert J. Yurckonis, of Las Vegas , NV; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11:00 A.M. at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & West Market Streets, Pottsville. Reverend Peggy Sue Pfeffer will be officiating the service. Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., Pottsville.
