TROY- Harriet Elizabeth "Betty" Kendall, age 85, of Troy, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 9th, 2007 at home with her family by her side. Family and friends are welcome to call from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday night June 13, 2007 and again Thursday morning from 10:00-11:00 AM at the First United Methodist Church of Troy; 205 Reddington Ave., Troy, PA. The funeral service with follow the viewing Thursday morning, June 14, 2004 at 11:00 AM at the church with Betty's pastor and friend, Rev. Richard Noggle officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Windfall Cemetery. The Vickery Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements. Betty was born in Windfall PA, on August 30th, 1921, daughter of the late John and Mabel (Haflett) Duart. Betty will be re-united with her husband, Phillip C. Kendall who preceded her in death on October 24th, 1970. Betty is survived by her two sons, Wendell (Nancy) Kendall of Windfall, PA, Alan (Kim) Kendall of Windfall, PA and her daughter, Brenda (Dale) Beardslee of Troy, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Jeffrey Kendall, Wendy Taylor, her special grandson Bradley Kendall, Trisha Palmieri, Linda Blasz, Jason Raplee, Gregory Raplee and Valerie Raplee, a great-grandmother of 10 and a great great-grandmother of two girls as well as many extended family members and close friends. Betty was a member of the 1939 graduating class of Troy High School and was married to her husband Phillip C. Kendall on May 7th 1942. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Troy, PA, United Methodist Women, Golden Star Rebecca's, VFW Auxiliary and the Ladies homemaker camp. Betty was inspired by her love of music, especially her violin, which she often played in church, gardening and most importantly spending time with her family. Betty was an extremely loving and thoughtful mother, grandmother and friend whom always put the needs of others ahead of her own. She was known as a soft-spoken, kind hearted and sweet friend to all, whom will be dearly missed.
