Grover E. Danley, Sr.

SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT - Grover E. Danley, Sr., 73, died on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at the Dialysis Center, Montoursville. Grover was born on March 26, 1937 in Tivoli and was the son of the late Grover W. and Sarah M. (Lauerenson) Danley. He was a graduate of Hughesville High School, Class of 1955. He was an Airman 2nd Class with the US Airforce and served in Guam. On September 5, 1960, he married the former Idamae R. (Breon) who survives and celebrated 50 years of marriage. Grover was a former employee of John Savoy, Montoursville, Shearer Industrial and the VFW, Duboistown Post 7863. He was a member of the Bethel Point United Methodist Church and VFW Duboistown where he had bartended. He was a former member of the Independent Fire Company, S. Williamsport. Grover enjoyed leather crafting, gardening and watching sports. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; Grover E. and Kelly Danley, Jr. of S. Williamsport and Robert E. and Laura Danley of Williamsport, three daughters and two sons-in-law; Tina M. and Roger Alter of Williamsport, Gail L. and Lawrence Shaffer, Sr. of S. Williamsport and Martha L. Hartman and her fianc' Clifford Booth of S. Williamsport, 18 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, two brothers and sisters-in-law; Larue A. and Mary Danley of Williamsport and Arthur and Marge Danley of Muncy and three sisters and two brothers-in-law; Annabell Danley of Williamsport, Ina Mae and Joe Coonce of Tivoli and Vera J. and Kenneth Little, Sr. of Eaglesmere. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers; Charles E. and Howard E. Danley. There will be a public viewing from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, January 2, 2011 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
