LANSDALE - Geraldine May "Gerry" (Steininger) Pursel, 83, formerly of Milton, died on Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at the Brittany Pointe Estates at Willow Brook Court, Lansdale. She was the loving wife of the late Lee Laverne Pursel for 61 years and who had died on July 23, 2008. Geraldine was born on May 23, 1925 in Danville and was a daughter of the late Charles M. and Alverda (Grubb) Steininger. She was a graduate of the Danville Area High School and received her Registered Nurses Degree from the Danville State Hospital. She was a former employee of Evangelical Hospital, Buffalo Valley Skilled Nursing Center and had retired from the Nottingham Village Skilled Nursing Center. She was a member of the Bethany United Methodist Church in Milton. Geraldine is survived by two daughters; Cecelia Lee Williams of Alexandria, VA and Sonya Lee Healy of Lansdale, three grandsons; Kent Lee Williams of Alexandria, VA and Brennan Lee and Colin Lee Healy, both of Lansdale, and one brother and one sister-in-law; Robert and Vivian Steininger of Kennett Square. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; Charles Vincent Steininger and Lansford Steininger. There will be a public viewing from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 17, 2008 at the Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front St., Milton and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008 with the funeral service starting at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Harmony Cemetery. The services will be officiated by the Reverend William Hallman. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Geraldine may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. 3rd St., Williamsport, PA 17701-3945.
