Franklin W. Mahaffey, Sr.

LOCK HAVEN - Franklin W. Mahaffey Sr., 62, of 35 E. Doe Run Lane, died Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at his residence with his family by his side. He was married to the former Miriam J. âJeanã (Wentzel) Mahaffey who died in 2014. He was born in Williamsport on July 29, 1954, a son of the late Roy and Margaret "Peggy" (Floyd) Womelsdorf. Franklin worked for Truck-Lite Co. He enjoyed camping at his river lot, shooting pool and he was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Surviving are his companion, Sharri Isherwood; a son, Jeff A. (Amanda) Shaffer Jr. of South Williamsport; also three daughters, Stephanie (Mark) Shaffer of Jersey Shore, Kinsie M. (Dave) Shaffer of McVeytown and Melody A. (Tristan) Davidson of Turbotville. Thirteen grandchildren also survive. Three sisters, Kim (Jake) Merrill of Howard, Helen Wheeler of Lock Haven and Anna (Frank) Oppedisano of Lock Haven. A son, Frank W. Mahaffey Jr., preceded him in death on April 2, 2017; and a brother, Roy F. Womelsdorf in 1987. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by the Helt Funeral Chapel, Mill Hall.
