Douglas S. Etter

Loganville—Douglas S. Etter, 55, died Friday, February 5, 2016 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Betty A. (Beers) Etter. The couple celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary on August 13th. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10 AM, Saturday, February 13, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York with Rev. Joe Detrick officiating. Viewings will be held from 6-8 PM, Friday and from 9-10 AM, Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born December 14, 1960 in Lancaster, he was a son of Russel H. Etter (Linda) and the late Suzanne (Gudikust) Etter. He was employed as an IT Specialist/ Team Lead with IBM for the past 2 years and previously worked with PHH for 24 years. An avid sports fan, he loved watching football, baseball and other sports on television, but he especially loved the Orioles. Doug loved his reptiles and cats. Played softball for Aldersgate United Methodist Church for several years. Doug is survived by one brother, David A. Etter of York; one sister, Karen M. Etter of York and a nephew, Derek A.
