Dorothy L. (Garrett) Boone

YORK – Dorothy L. (Garrett) Boone, 92, passed away Sunday, February 23, 2014 at Country Meadows at Leader Heights. She was the wife of the late Meredith Odell Boone. Born September 21, 1921 in Aberdeen, South Dakota a daughter of the late William A. and Elga O. (Carlson) Garrett, she was a 1939 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Mrs. Boone enjoyed making handicrafts and was an excellent knitter who made intricate sweaters for family members. Mrs. Boone is survived by two daughters, Nancy L. Boone Fisher and husband Richard of Jacobus and Patsy L. Boone and husband Peter McCreesh of Red Lion; five grandchildren, Richard C. Fisher, Jennifer Fisher Byers, Adam Boone-McCreesh, Brendan Boone-McCreesh, and Ryan Boone-McCreesh; six great grandchildren; and two sisters, Gail Deitrich of York and Rachel Werking of Dillsburg. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Janet Jessop and Harriet Fritzsching. Memorial services will be private.
