Dorothy J. Riley

YORK – Dorothy J. (Lerew) Riley, 86, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at Manor Care Health Services North. She was the wife of the late Walter D. “Pat” Riley. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Certified Celebrant Debe Snyder officiating. A visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Saturday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Loganville. Born April 13, 1932 in Loganville, a daughter of the late Harry Lerew and Mardella (Hyser) Lerew Detter, and stepdaughter to the late Frank Detter, she was a graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Mrs. Riley had worked at Dentsply Inc. She was a member of Yorkana Archery Club, York Archers where she competed in field shooting and 3D archery, the Ladies Auxiliaries of Pleasureville American Legion 799 and White Rose VFW 556, Surviving Spouse Socials and Tuesday Senior Bowling League at Colony Park North. Mrs. Riley is survived by a stepbrother, Keith Detter; three stepsisters, Carolyn Schwartz, Joan Noll and Beth Staub; many cousins; and her cat “Baby.” In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 Susquehanna Trail N., York, PA 17406.
