Stewartstown—Doris L. (Schnetzka) Stabley, 73, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Manor Care Health Services – South. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 PM, Thursday, March 8, 2012 at Hopewell United Presbyterian Church, 8426 Church Rd, Felton, with Elder Dale Keesey officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2 PM, Thursday, at the church. Burial will be held in Hopewell Presbyterian Cemetery. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born December 19, 1938 in York, she was a daughter of the late Arthur H. and Pearl M. (Tompkins) Schnetzka. She was employed with Gichner’s Mobile Systems as a spot welder for 17 years and also worked as a bus driver with Southeastern School District for many years. A member of Hopewell United Presbyterian Church and Loyal Order of Moose-Lodge 148, she also was a 1957 graduate of Kennard-Dale High School. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, working in her flower garden, puzzle books and always had enough love for everyone in her family. Mrs. Stabley is survived by one son, Richard L. Stabley, Jr., and his wife, Brandy of Red Lion; three daughters, Deborah L. and Donna L. Stabley, both of Stewartstown and Diane L. Brown and her husband, Buddy of Stewartstown; 5 grandsons; 1 granddaughter; 1 great granddaughter; two brothers, Clayton Tompkins of Red Lion and James E. Tompkins of York; one sister, Edna Bryant of Baltimore and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Randel L. Stabley; brother, Harold Schnetzka and sister, Lara Chambers. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Doris L. Stabley Memorial Fund, C/O Sovereign Bank, 19 W. Pennsylvania Ave, Stewartstown, Pa 17363.
