DOVER -Donald Robert Severns, 82, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at York Hospital. He was the loving husband of the late Rosamae S. (Nagle) Severns. A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2010 at Windsor Cemetery, Windsor Twp, with full military honors presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Severns was born May 12, 1928 in Stow, Ohio a son of the late Howard W. and Mable (Gashorn) Severns. He was a former truck driver of 38 years for St. Johnsbury Trucking Co. until his retirement. Mr. Severns was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving his country during WWII. He was a member of the VFW Post #8951, Shiloh American Legion, AMVETS, Victory Club and Vigilant Fire Co. He enjoyed camping and hunting, but most of all traveling to Vegas. Mr. Severns is survived by three sons, John J. Brenner and wife, Jodi J. of East Berlin, Shawn E. Severns and wife, Peg A. of Hanover, and Daniel T. Severns of Dover; three daughters, Eugenia R. Hake of Ringgold, GA, Sheliah C. Brenner of York, and Judy Pyle and husband, Rodger of Monroe, OH; 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and two nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna R.
