RED LION- David M. Stayrook, 71, died on Monday, May 5, 2014 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Grace (Thomas) Stayrook. The couple recently celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary on April 20. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 at Windsor Church of God, 1125 Manor Rd., Windsor, with his pastor, the Reverend Anthony Zumbo officiating. Viewings will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Pl., Red Lion and from 10-11 a.m. at church on Friday. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Born on March 15, 1943 in Johnstown, he was a son of the late Morton R. and Ruth E. (Miller) Stayrook. David was a tool die maker for Tate Access Floors, Inc. until his retirement in 2005. Mr. Stayrook was a member of Windsor Church of God. He enjoyed making wood crafts and loved blue grass gospel music. Along with his wife, Grace, David is survived by three sons, Dwight M. Stayrook of York, Barry D. Stayrook of Shrewsbury and Larry G. Stayrook of Shrewsbury; one daughter, Gloria A. Heizler and her husband, Robert of Gloucester, VA; one brother, Miller F. Stayrook and his wife, Vernabell of Goshen, IN; four sisters, Esther L. Byers of Hooversville, Eunice L. Hershberger of Danville, IN, Patricia A. Calloway of Hollsopple, PA and Maretta R. Hammitte and her husband, Thomas of Loxley, AL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Harold F., Morton R., Jr., Carmon R., Luther J. and Spencer S. Stayrook.
