David Arlen Peer, 81, of Wellsburg, NY, passed away on Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Horseheads, NY. He was the loving husband of Sharon Peer of Wellsburg. A graveside service to honor David's life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 25, 2009 in the Riverside Cemetery, Elmira, NY, with military honors given by the Chemung County Honor Guard and the Military Forces Honor Guard out of Bath, NY. The Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. David was born on February 25, 1928 in Elmira, NY, son of the late Lawrence and Thelma (Cooley) Peer. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, and after worked for The Glass Company as a window installer and carpenter. David was a lifetime member of the Marine Corps League, and was a former member of the American Legion and V.F.W. He loved carpentry and building, going for walks, and working on crossword puzzles. David is survived by his wife Sharon, seven children including his special daughter Michelle (Lou) Bianchi of Rochester, NY, four step-children, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, his brother John (Jeanne) Peer of Horseheads, NY, his sisters: Verna Clark of Horseheads, NY and Norma Babcock of Arizona, several nieces, nephews, and cousins, special friend David Corneby and faithful companion "Molly". David was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Larry, his sister Dorothy, and his grandson Isaac.
