Dale E. Warfel, Sr.

FELTON- Dale E. Warfel, Sr., 76, died on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of the late Roxie Ann (Shirey) Warfel. The couple had been married for 49 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 6, 2016 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York with his pastor, The Reverend Kevin L. Becker officiating. Viewings will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Born on October 14, 1940 in York, he was a son of the late John and Dorothy (Hildebrand) Warfel. Dale was a tool and dye maker for Teledyne McKay Co. for 34 years and retired from Abbottstown Industries, Inc. after 10 years of employment. Mr. Warfel was a member of Salem U.C.C. in Jacobus. He was also a member of the Vikings Athletic Association, South End Democratic Club and Prince Athletic Association. Mr. Warfel is survived by one son, Dale E. Warfel, II and his fiancé Beth Smyser of Felton; one daughter, Erin C. Anderson and her husband, Jeremiah of York; four grandchildren, Cameron and his wife, Audrey, Paige and Faith Warfel and Ryland Anderson; three great grandchildren, Anabella Warfel, Layla Mae Warfel-Flohr and Finley Warfel; two brothers, Perry Warfel and his wife, Linda of Jacobus and Tom Warfel and his wife, Deb of Seven Valleys; and three sisters, Gladys “Sis” Sanders of Jacobus, Sue Thomas and her husband, Harold of Jacobus; and Mary Ellen Folkenroth and her husband, Ray of Leader Heights. He was preceded in death by two brothers, John “Amos” Warfel and Roy “Dink” Warfel; and one sister, Virginia Warfel. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, St. Jude Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
