Clara A. Allen

LOCK HAVEN - Clara A. (Yoder) Allen, 85, of Avis died Monday, November 21, 2016 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born March 17, 1931 in Williamsport a daughter of the late Harold and Esther Yoder, Sr. Clara was married in Williamsport on October 25, 1947 to Frederick A. Allen, Sr. for 61 years. He preceded her in death in 2009. She was a Registered Nurse and worked several years for the Lock Haven Hospital. Clara was a member of the Peoples Church of Farrandsville. She was also a member of the Son’s of Italy, 40/8, Castanea Fire Company and the Avis American Legion. Surviving are two sons Frederick (Sharon) Allen, Jr. and Jeffrey A. (Deanna) Allen both of Avis and a daughter Patricia A. (Nicholas) DiCuccio of Lock Haven. 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. One sister Marian (Vernon) Bennette of Williamsport and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter Theresa Eiler. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, Nov., 28, 2016 at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall with Sharon Weaver certified lay minister officiating. Friends and relatives will be received one-hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Peoples Church through the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park, Lock Haven.
