HANOVER TOWNSHIP- Charles Staley, 81, of Division Street, Lee Park Section of Hanover Township, died Monday, February 5, 2007, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born in Wilkes-Barre on February 13, 1925, he was a son of the late Harry and Lulu (Mitchell) Staley. He was a member of Baptist Tabernacle, Wilkes-Barre, where he served as an usher. He was also a member of Teamsters Local 401 and a life member of Amvets Post 609, Hanover Township. Prior to retiring was employed by Bechtel Corporation where he was a Teamster Steward. He was preceded in death by his son, Charles R. Staley; sister, Florence Mitchell; and brother William Staley. Surviving is his wife of 59 years, the former Muriel Rogers; a son Robert W. Staley of Larksville; a daughter CathiRose Perugino of Plains; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother Harry Staley of Tampa Palms, Florida; a sister Helen Mancuso of Carbondale; nieces and nephews Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are being handled by Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. Memorial contributions may be made to Baptist Tabernacle Memorial Fund, 63 W. Division St., Wilkes-Barre.
