RED LION- Charles F. Gohn, Jr., 69, died Sunday, November 1, 2009 at his residence. He was the husband of Penny L. (Fauth) Gohn. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York with a viewing from 9:30-11 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery with full military honors by York County Veteran's Honor Guard and a service will be provided by White Rose Lodge # 15 Fraternal Order of Police. Mr. Gohn was born in York on July 26, 1940, a son of the late Charles F. and Edna L. (Myers) Gohn, Sr. He retired in 1993 after 24 years of service as a York City Police Officer. Prior to that he worked as a Printer for Maple Press in York. Mr. Gohn was a member of The National Rifle Association, Izaak Walton League, White Rose Lodge # 15, Fraternal Order of Police, Association of Retired York City Police Officers, Appalachian Trail Conservancy, and Conewago Canoe Club. He was a US Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War. Mr. Gohn leaves a son, Wade C. Gohn of Mount Wolf; two daughters, Tracy L. Gohn Kohler of Wrightsville and Kristen E. Gohn Himes of East Prospect; five grandchildren; two step daughters, Bambi and Kera; four step grandchildren; two sisters, Phyllis L. Gohn Paules of Delaware and Kathleen A. Gohn of Florida; and his companion a Yellow Lab, Kayak Gohn. Memorial Contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403
