Carol L. (Elliott) Melhorn

YORK- Carol L. (Elliot) Melhorn, 77, of Springettsbury Twp., died Saturday, September 6, 2008 at Pleasant Acres. She was the wife of the late Dale E. Melhorn. A Graveside Service will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd, in York. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. 1551 Kenneth Rd., in York is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Melhorn was born in Lewistown on April 10, 1931, a daughter of the late George and Verda (Long) Sowers. She worked as a clerk at McCrory's in York and was a homemaker. She enjoyed her family gatherings, going to the beach and the hunting cabin and boating. Mrs. Melhorn leaves four sons: Gary L. Melhorn and Terry D. Melhorn, both of Dallastown, Keith A. Melhorn and Michael E. Melhorn, both of York; two daughters: JoAnne K. Grove of West York, Connie J. Frey of Morganton , N. Carolina; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 2 step children: Jeffrey and Jerry Spangler. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 924-N Colonial Ave., York, PA 17403.
