Carol J. (Keefer) Beck

Lewisberry—Carol J. (Keefer) Beck, 65, died Friday, December 18, 2009 at Holy Spirit Hospital. She was the wife of the late Darvin E. Beck, Sr. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at Beaver Urich Funeral Home, Inc, 305 W. Front Street, Lewisberry, with Darrell Schrade, officiating. A viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be held in Tri-County Memorial Gardens. Born February 6, 1944 in Shadowtown, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Francis I. (Shelly) Keefer. She was employed with Roadway Express as a Freight Expediter for 17 years, until her retirement in 2003. A member of the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association, she also attended both, Andersontown Church of God and Yocumtown Church of God. Mrs. Beck is survived by two sons, Darvin E. Beck Jr., of Dover and Paul Beck of Boiling Springs, two daughters, Mariann Manley of Newport and Dawn Beck of Lewisberry, 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, one brother, John Keefer Jr, of New Cumberland, three sisters, Irene H. Stone of Duncannon, Ruth Shaberly of East Berlin and Pearl McPherson of Shippensburg. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Beck, son-in-law, Charles Manley, three sisters, Flora, Genevieve and Ada, and her foster parents, Mary and Paul Kochenour.
