Betty G. Schober

York-Betty G. Schober, 89, passed away Friday, May 6, 2011 at York Hospital. A celebration of life service will be 11am, Saturday, June 4, 2011 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market Street, York, with the Rev. Keith Fair, officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, is in charge of arrangements. Born August 13, 1921 in Wrightsville, she was the daughter of the late Fern C. Sprenkle and Charles Schober. She was employed with Park Lane Hosiery as store manager for 10 years and later worked at Danskin in their sample department until her retirement in 1984. She enjoyed sewing, ironing, was an avid reader, loved watching golf on TV and was an enthusiastic fan of Horse Racing\'s \"Triple Crown\". Ms. Schober is survived by two daughters, Mary M. \"Dolly\" Martin and husband, John of York and Catherine M. \"Kitty\" Stackhouse and husband, Matthew of York, two grandchildren, Bronley J. Martin and Alexa M. Stackhouse and several cousins. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market Street, York, Pa 17401.
