Barbara E. (Swartz) Wirrick

Mifflin—Barbara E. (Swartz) Wirrick, 63, passed away, Saturday, April 4, 2009 in Perry County. She was the wife of Phillip C. Wirrick to whom she was married for 45 years. A celebration of life service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Fairview Brethren in Christ Church, 600 Evergreen Rd, New Cumberland, with the Rev. Kenneth Keller, officiating. A viewing will be from 10 to 11 a.m., Thursday, at the church. Burial will be held in Tri-County Memorial Gardens. Beaver-Urich Funeral Home, Inc., 305 W. Front St., Lewisberry, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Wirrick was born October 27, 1945 in Lewistown, a daughter of the late Glen and Viola (Swartz) Berryman. She was a dedicated homemaker, caring for her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Before moving to Mifflin, she was a member of Fairview Brethren in Christ Church for many years and is currently a member with Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church in Port Royal. Over the years, she volunteered for various organizations throughout the communities she lived in and especially with the churches she attended. Along with her husband, Phillip, Barbara was a foster parent for 30 plus years, together they supported and cared for over 100 children. A few of her hobbies included, scrapbooking, quilting and stamping up. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Wirrick is survived by four children, Sonya L. Sheaffer of Camp Hill, Shelley L. Boullianne of Mt. Holly Springs, David S. Wirrick of McCoysville and Elizabeth M. Kreiser of Ickesburg, eight grandchildren, Chuck, a Marine, stationed in Iraq, Jim, Jessalynn, Caleb, Raven, Kyle, Falcon and Hunter, two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Austyn. She was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Adam. Memorial contributions may be made to Cedar Grove Brethren in Christ Church, In memory of Barbara E.
