Anna E. Goodman

Pottsville- Anna E. Goodman, 94, of Pottsville passed away Thursday morning at Schuylkill Medical Center, East Norwegian Street, Pottsville, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Mahanoy Plane on March 21, 1917, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Catherine Harkins Devine. She was a 1935 graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School. Anna was a member of Saint Patrick’s Church, member of the Catholic War Veterans and a member of the Saint Patrick’s Woman’s Club, all of Pottsville. She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Goodman, Sr., who passed away August 18, 2001; her two grandchildren, Michael and Robert Bowers; her brother, Daniel Devine; her four sisters, Mary Mulroy, Margaret Early, Frances Swoyer and Catherine Phalen. Anna is survived by her four daughters, Ann E. Bowers, of Pottsville, Mary Jane Omlor, wife of Robert, Sr., of Pottsville, Kathleen Baldwin, wife of William, of Laurens, SC, and Barbara Bretz, fiancé of William Dewald, of Pottsville; her two sons, George W. Goodman, Jr., companion of Millie, of Reading, and Ronald Goodman, husband of Robin, of Port Carbon; her 19 grandchildren; her 30 Great grandchildren; her 3 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Monday morning at 11:00 A.M. at Schlitzer-Allen-Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th 7 West Market Streets, Pottsville. Deacon Jack Quirk will officiate. Family and friends may call on Monday morning from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at the funeral home. Entombment will be held in Our Lady of Calvary Mausoleum, Hillside, Pottsville.
