Amanda Louise (Loose) Galligher

YORK – Amanda Louise (Loose) Galligher, 93, was welcomed into the arms of the Lord, Monday, May 21, 2012 at Manor Care – Kingston Court. She was the wife of the late William Coulter Galligher who she missed until she died. She was always there for her family in time of need. Funeral services and burial will be private in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements. Born November 18, 1918 in Struthers, Ohio a daughter of the late Warren Norman and Maynolia Minnie (Rappine) Loose, she was a 1937 graduate of Norristown High School. Mrs. Galligher worked part-time at the former Patti Cake Bakery and Schaefer Florists prior to becoming a stay at home mom who cherished raising her children. She was a Girl Scout Leader at Advent Lutheran Church and a member of Eastminster Presbyterian Church and its Single Women’s Club and Retirees Group; Widow Support Group of York; and York Valley Inn Health Club. Mrs. Galligher loved to read and play bridge. Mrs. Galligher is survived by two daughters, A. Louise and husband Rick Snyder of Harrisburg and Carol A. and husband Charles “Chuck” Schaeffer of York; four grandchildren, Christopher and Mark Schaeffer, and Scott and Eric Snyder; and six grandchildren.
