Alberta L. (Nolan) Baxter Green

READING - Alberta L. Baxter Green, 83, formerly of Schuylkill Haven, died Friday at the Berkshire Center, Reading, where she had been a resident. Born in Pottsville on October 23, 1923, she was a daughter of the late James and Carrie Eyler Nolan. She was a graduate of Pottsville High School. Until retiring, she was employed by Argo Mills, Schuylkill Haven and Peak-A-Boo in Schuylkill Haven. She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Free Church, Cressona. She was also a member of the Schuylkill County Woodcarvers Association. Alberta was known for her crafting skills, especially quilting, knitting and crocheting. Surviving Alberta are: her husband, Charles Green, of Falls, PA; three sons, Alan Baxter, of Bernville, PA; Robert Baxter, of Dacula, GA; and David Baxter, of Seneca S.C.; seven grandchildren; a brother, Warren Nolan, of Folcroft, PA; a sister, Joan Carey, of Catawissa, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by: her first husband, Charles H. Baxter, who died May 15, 1989; a son, Jon Baxter; a daughter Sharon Baxter; and a sister, Jean Huff. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM from the Grace Evangelical Free Church, Graeff & South View Dr., Cressona. The Rev. Randy Ott will officiate. Family and friends may call at the church on Thursday from 10 AM until time of service. Interment will be in Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven. The Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville, is handling the arrangements.
