MONTOURSVILLE - Adele M. (Feinberg) Wasserman, 91, died on Monday, January 7, 2013 at The Gate House, Williamsport. Adele was born on November 1, 1921 in New York city and was the daughter of the late Nathan and Clara (Groffman) Feinberg. She was married on November 10, 1945 to the late Benjamin Wasserman for 47 years until his death on February 19, 1993. She had lived most of her younger life in NYC and spent a few years in Alabama, Kansas and Missouri in her teens. She has spent the last 60 years in the Williamsport area. Adele was a very special and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. After a temporary paralysis in her late 80’s, she worked very hard to regain her ability to walk and was successful. She was a gifted artist, using oils and acrylics for her paintings. She had a beautiful voice and sang with a band in her younger years. During WWII, she was a “Rosie Riveter” and had worked on B29’s. She was a talented seamstress, a self taught carpenter and an avid reader of science fiction and mystery. The library was her second home. Besides her family, Adele loved cats and always had a precious feline living with her. She was a member of the Temple Beth Ha Shalom. Adele will be forever missed by her family. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law; Cynthia and Paul Bezilla and Judy E. and Wainwright Schroeder, all of Montoursville, six grandchildren; John Goas and wife Norine of Montoursville, Michael Goas and wife Angela of Browns Summit, NC, Thomas Goas and fiancée Kara Mareci of Wayne, PA, Stephanie Schroeder and husband Adam Lawless of Eugene, OR, Tim Schroeder of Syracuse, NY and Jeff Schroeder of Williamsport, ten great grandchildren, six great-great grandchildren, one niece; Patti Young of Maryville, TN, one nephew; Perry Larimer of Memphis, TN and her beloved Persian cat; Boo. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother; Harold Feinberg. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 12:15 to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. Marvin B. Hurwitz will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Wildwood Cemetery. In keeping with Jewish tradition, there will be no viewing or flowers.
