WILLIAMSPORT - Adda E. (French) Snyder, 87, died on Monday, May 18, 2015 at the Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital. She was married on August 11, 1949 to the late Clarence Henry Snyder who died on February 18, 1998 and they celebrated 48 years of marriage at the time of his death. Adda was born on August 27, 1927 in Ellwood City and was the daughter of the late William G. and Bertha A. (Koach) French. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City, Class of 1945. She worked at GTE Sylvania, Hall Station for 5 years and then worked at Weldon Manufacturing in Williamsport for 10 years, retiring in 1982. Adda was a member of the Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Eleanor Thomas Circle and worked on quilts. Adda enjoyed sewing, crosswords, puzzles, baking, spending time with her family and was an avid collector of miniature shoes. Several generations of children called her “Gram”. Her favorite past time was to sit on her porch swing and “keep watch” in the neighborhood. Adda is survived by two daughters; Katherine Rae Engler and her husband Doug of Montana and Patricia Ann Wehr of Williamsport, five grandchildren; Kyle David Yerk and wife Shannon, Seth Andrew Yerk and wife Nicole, Taryn Elizabeth Yerk, James Nathan Wehr and Amelia Keigh Wehr, one great-grandson; Sebastian Yerk (son of Seth & Nicole), one brother; Robert C. French. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers; W. Lemoyne, Alvin Lee French, Carroll R. French and Delmore R. French and one sister; Norma E. Shinsky. The memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Faxon-Kenmar United Methodist Church, 1301 Clayton Ave., Williamsport, PA 17701. Pastor Mike will officiate the service. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements are being handled by the Allen & Redmond Funeral Home, 331 Elmira St., Williamsport.
